Finally got away in the Portafold. The Mini pulled it well; 60 mph up the M1 and 35mpg (remarkably) even with the auto box. I only get 37mpg normally. Lots of smiles on the site in the Peak District. Matching Mini and Portafold
Hello everyone!
A quick snap of my Portafold, now repaired and resprayed to match my Mini. The Mini is a 1275 automatic and seems to tow the Portafold pretty well - certainly "round the block"

The answer to the nose weight question is definitely to aim for 7% of the trailer mass. A higher nose load (as apparently suggested by the RAC who should know better) will help stability but it also increases oversteer, ie it pushes the back of the car round when braking in bends which is nearly as ...
